Richard Dodd’s 10 Recording Tips
THERE ARE NO RULES AS LONG AS NO HARM CAN COME TO MAN OR GEAR
- Do no harm, step back and make sure that you’re not getting “in the way” of a good sound.
- Change, don’t “tweak.” No one hears tweaks.
- If someone asks for the vocal up 0.2 dB, laugh as if it’s the funniest joke you’ve ever heard, burst out laughing later and quote the joke. Repeat as needed.
- Don’t use brick wall limiting on your mix for any reason other than because you like it. Good mastering engineers can make it louder/better than you can, but they can’t remove an inappropriate decision.
- If in doubt, don’t.
- If it’s “right,” do it.
- Be ready. The “wrong” gear choice that’s ready beats waiting past the “best available performance window.”
- Share your knowledge.
- Keep something secret.
- Stop when you aren’t having fun anymore.

Mixage – Les Anarchitectes

le remixage de la chanson “Montréal” de la formation montréalaise les Anarchitectes est terminée.
La chanson sera disponible sous peu.Voici Less commentaire de Dominic le batteur sur l’enregistrement de la pièce qui ne c’est pas fais chez Musimedia:
C’est une chanson écrite par 20 Miller (notre multimusicien). Il a grandi à Montréal et 25 ans plus tard, après avoir quitter la métropole, il en a écrit une toune. Ça été enregistrer au chalet d’un de nos ami, Fork. Nous avons passé 4 jours en pré-prod pour être plus prêt la journée ou on ira en studio.
C’est un gars que j’ai rencontrer sur le net qui nous a enregistrer et mixer. Sont nom, Lyes. Nous avons fait ça avec mon Mac book, dans CuBase avec : Carte de son Presonus FireStudioProject Les moniteurs sont des Makie HR50, qui sonne drôlement très bien !!!
Les mics on été du Sure sur le Pearl JazzKit avec des Paiste 2002 1979 (kick, snare, tom, floor, hh et 2 overhead)
Les voix : Studio Project condencer mic à tube et audio-technica at 3035.
Tu peux entendre les instruments suivant :
Fender telecaster standard 2006 dans un blues JRGibson Archtop L48 1949 dans un direct box et at 3035
Standard Fender Jazz Bass Fretless 1995 dans un Ampeg avec un mic donc je ne me souviens plus !!!
C’est à peux prêt ce que je me souviens !

Musimedia déménage!
Le nouveau studio sera aménagé entre juillet et septembre 2009. Il sera divisé en 3 pièces: Le studio, Une pièce dédiée à la batterie ansi qu’une pièce pour l’enregistrement des voix et instruments. Les trois pièces seront reliés avec des entrées et sorties de son. En tout, le studio sera amménagé sur environs 800 pieds carrés et sera dotté de traitement acoustique afin d’obtenir une fidélité de son impecable.
Suivez l’évolution en photo dès la fin juillet 2009 !
